LIN Jiun-Ting (1970～, born in Taipei) is a prolific contemporary Chinese artist, exhibiting regularly at major galleries and institutions across China, Korea, Japan, Finland, Australia and U.S.
He works in new media art – such as interactive arts and installations. The core concepts behind his artistic practice are humanist and Taoist, from which derive his signature artistic style and motifs: blurring the line between “Reality” and “Vanity”, drawing the audience into a world beyond time-space limits, just like in the butterfly dream of Zhuangzi.
In 2003, awarded the techno-art artist residency at Location One in New York by ACC (Asian Cultural Council).
In 2011, LIN Jiun-Ting was commissioned by National Palace Museum in Taipei to create a new media artwork and exhibition – “Beyond Landscape”, to celebrate the legendary reunion of a masterpiece of Chinese ink painting – “Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains”. “Beyond Landscape” won the 2012 MUSE Award for Interpretive Interactive Installations. MUSE Award is an activity of the Media & Technology Standing Professional Committee of the American Association of Museums.
LIN Jiun-Ting is the founder and art director of BluePhoenix New Media Arts based in Shanghai, and the visiting professor in Sichuan Fine Arts Institute.
